Peak Ballet offers ballet lessons for children of all ages in the Southern Peak District at Alison House Hotel in Cromford.
Peak Ballet follows the syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance which focus on creativity and musicality. Lessons offer local children the best possible opportunity to study ballet in a friendly, supportive and safe environment.
For the child wishing to complete exams, the RAD offers a wide range of assessments designed to motivate and reward students of all ages and abilities. RAD exams are recognised by Ofqual and contribute to UCAS points.
Peak Ballet offers ballet lessons for adult beginners and improvers in a mature and friendly environment. Peak Ballet also offers Silver Swans classes (Matlock, Ashbourne and Belper), developed by the Royal Academy of Dance for older learners.
All adult classes are structured to incorporate learning the fundamentals of basic ballet technique whilst providing a fun way of keeping fit to inspiring music. There are many benefits of learning ballet including toning of muscles, increasing core strength, improving posture and flexibility, not to mention using the old grey matter to literally think on your feet!
As dance is the "second most popular physical activity following football" (Art Council England, 2016), Peak Ballet will inspire local Primary pupils to get moving to music by providing dance workshops and lessons for KS1&2.
Basic dance skills are taught over half-termly sessions and are interactive, engage pupils' imaginations, increase communication skills whilst providing a fun and physical workout. Who knows ... those football skills may even be enhanced with nimble and nifty footwork, increased stamina and flexibility!
